The British Museum is one the largest museums in the world, and houses over seven million artefacts relating to human history and culture. One of the most fascinating items on display is the Rosetta Stone, which was the key to us understanding Egyptian hieroglyphics. The cat mummies are also a must-see, as are the Egyptian sarcophagi, which are also on display.
At this museum, you can travel across time from the age of Enlightenment back to the middle-eastern land of Mesopotamia in 6000 BC, and across the world from Italy to Japan.
There are also regular rotating free and paid exhibitions, which means that each visit to this magnificent place is different and equally fascinating.
Join us on our British Museum Private Tour to see the highlights of this huge collection – we can customise the tour to your interests too.
