Can I secure my tour with a deposit?

Yes – we offer the option to reserve your tour with a 25% deposit when booking two or more months before your chosen date. Book online or email us. The remainder is due one month prior, and you’ll receive a reminder email. Our site accepts Visa and Mastercard only; to pay with American Express, please contact us.

Is this tour private?

Yes – all tours are conducted privately for your party alone. We never add other travellers to your party.

Are your tour guides licensed?

Every tour is led by a licensed Blue Badge Tourist Guide – the top qualification for guides in the UK, earned after two years of challenging training. Their knowledge and credentials mean you’ll enjoy an exceptional experience. Please note that many other companies use unlicensed guides at the British Museum, without this important guarantee of quality.

Can I customise or extend this private tour?

This tour is for the highlights of the British Museum. If you have any particular theme or interest at the British Museum please contact us before booking so we can create a custom tour for you.

You can extend this tour to 4 hours to explore the area around the British Museum (Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square and The West End) on foot with your guide for an additional £50. You can also combine this tour with one of our other tours such as a private walking tour of London or car tour of London, or with a Tower of London private guided tour.

What's the Cancellation Policy for this tour?

Cancel at least 10 days before your tour’s scheduled start time (London local time) – 15% cancellation fee (£100 minimum) + admission ticket costs.
Cancel between 4 and 10 days before – 50% cancellation fee.
Cancel within 96 hours (4 days) – 100% cancellation fee.

  Jo was our tour guide for three different tours (Hampton Court, The Tower of London, and Westminster Abbey).  We enjoyed all of the tours, and definitely learned/noticed things we would not have if we had done these on our own.  Jo was an excellent tour guide — very knowledgeable and easy going.   Highly recommend London Private Tours - was wonderful from the planning to the execution and so many happy wonderful memories. Guide had wit and geared it to the 5 tween/teens and also answered our more in-depth questions too from Westminster Church to the Tower  and tied in everything so well.   I booked two London tours with Private London Tours - one of the Tower of London and one full day tour that included a visit to Westminster Abbey and a private VIP tour inside the Churchill War Rooms. Both tours were fabulous! Our guides were extremely knowledgeable and shared fun facts for both adults and kids. The war rooms are a definite must! I can't recommend this company enough.
