Tate Modern Private Tour Details - London Art Gallery

Explore the highlights of the Tate Modern on London’s Bankside – home to the national collection of British art from 1500 to the present day, plus international modern and contemporary art.

Discover the story of the Tate Modern and how it came to be. This wonderland of modern art was once a gigantic power station, housing huge turbines and boiler rooms within its complex labyrinth. The power plant may have closed but prepare for some electrifying art that will shine a light on some of the world’s most experimental pieces.

Some may shock, some may inspire, but all will leave an impression.

Your Tate Modern private guided tour typically includes:

  • Salvatore Dali’s ‘Lobster Telephone’ - a surrealist masterpiece.
  • Pablo Picasso’s ‘Three Dancers’ - a true gem that tells the story of how Picasso's life events influenced his works.
  • 'The Snail’ by Henri Matisse - Discover the art of gouaches découpées
  • 'Marilyn Diptych' by Andy Warhol - A household name for a reason. This is one of the Tate Modern's most iconic works.
  • Plus so much more. The Tate Modern is filled with grand masterpieces as well as hidden gems, and with a wealth of stories waiting to be discovered.

Each guide will show you their own view of the Tate Modern so each tour is unique. If you have a special interest in a particular artist or era, do let us know when booking so we may personalise the tour.

The Tate Modern is a working institution. As such, we cannot guarantee that a particular work of art will be on display on the day of your tour.
